Publisher's note. Fall 2026 dates are straight from the 2026 Turkey Guide. Spring 2027 dates are NOT yet published as fixed calendar dates in any guide — the Commission instead approved a rule change at its June 12, 2026 meeting (reported by multiple Nebraska newspapers, e.g. theclaycountynews.com) that moves each spring segment onto a 'Saturday closest to' formula for spring 2027 onward: archery to the Saturday closest to April 8, youth shotgun to the Saturday closest to April 15, regular shotgun to the Saturday closest to April 22. The dates below are computed from that rule (April 10, 17 and 24, 2027 are each the closest Saturday to those anchor dates) — not copied from a printed calendar, since none exists yet for 2027. The May 31 close was not mentioned as changing in the same announcement, which addressed start dates only, so it is carried forward from every prior year's guide. Youth Archery is assumed to shift together with regular Archery, since both have always opened on the same date in every published guide and the announcement did not split them. Confirm all spring dates once the 2027 Turkey Guide is published — this project will update this page then. Nebraska defines turkey hunters as needing archery-only equipment before a shotgun season opens, then either method once it does — see bagLimits for the equipment-transition rule. Re-checked 2026-08-17: outdoornebraska.gov itself is Cloudflare-blocked for automated fetches, but a web search turns up no 2027 Turkey Guide yet and no announcement superseding the June 2026 formula — the computed dates stand unchanged.
