Can I hunt deer on my own land in Delaware without a license?
Delaware residents who own or live on a farm of 20 or more acres, plus immediate family living there, may hunt, fish, and trap it without a license. Deer tags and other harvest requirements still apply.

Delaware runs one of the longest deer seasons in the country (about five months) on a single statewide calendar, with no Kent/New Castle/Sussex county zone split for the general season. Archery is legal the entire five months; shotgun/firearms and muzzleloader each get two short, separate week-plus windows layered inside that archery season rather than one continuous block. RE-VERIFIED 2026-09-01, fetched directly (eRegulations answers a plain fetch with a browser user agent), and that check turned up four missing seasons. Confirmed as already correct: Archery Sept. 1-Jan. 31, Muzzleloader Oct. 9-18 and Jan. 25-31, General Firearm Nov. 13-22 and Jan. 16-24, and both bag rows ('Only 2 antlered deer may be taken during any license year (July 1 - June 30) by all methods and seasons combined. There is no limit on antlerless deer provided a hunter has an antlerless deer tag'). ADDED, because they sit on the same page and were missing: Crossbow (Sept. 1-Jan. 31, which DNREC lists as its own row), Special Antlerless (Oct. 2-4, Oct. 23-25, Oct. 30-31 and Dec. 12-20), Youth and Non-ambulatory Hunt (Sept. 26-27 and Nov. 7-8), and Handgun and straight-walled pistol-caliber rifle (Jan. 2-10, closed in Wildlife Management Zones 1A and 1B — the only row with a zone restriction). Two rules the page stresses and that matter in the field: archery and crossbow hunters may take antlered deer during the Special Antlerless seasons, and anyone using a bow during a firearm season must wear 400 square inches of hunter orange on head, chest and back.
